"Sometimes ideas and inspirations come not in the form of words or images but in other ways which can sometimes be clay. It is possible to mould a feeling into form and this once tangible can bring its story, as though opening a door to the words and language. These scultpings each carry their own language. Once produced I photograph them, and this is the beginning of a dialogue between them and myself to tell their story. These pieces will then be cast and produced in various ways, perhaps bronze, porcelain or glass, also explored through drawings and written word. This was a surprise element to my work, the first piece I worked on was 'Coming up for air', which was created in a moment in which a transition was required and this piece brought my story to life within its metaphor."
